What a lovely charity shop! My Mum and I had gone for a wander in Meanwood on our return to Leeds and we nipped in here, drawn in by the delights in the window. They had a number of gorgeous tea sets, bowls and other things in the window so we nipped in for a proper rummage.
I managed to pick up a huge coffee pot set for five pounds and a large fruit bowl for three pounds, all specially wrapped up by the lovely staff. It has to be said they were particularly helpful and friendly, which is wonderful given that I’m assuming they’re volunteers.
The shop was abuzz with folks looking for a bargain, and whilst the majority of the space is taken up with clothing, there’s plenty of ornamentals, kitchen ware, games, and other oddments to pick up. If you’ve the patience to rummage through you’re sure to find a fab new frock, pair of trousers, tea set and much more.
A delightful find and I shall be back soon!
My favourite charity shop ever! grew up in the area & always call in when back in the area, has a bit of everything & the prices are half that of any other charity shop.
it used to be only one shop unit but a few years back expanded & the 2nd unit is full of books, i got 3 dan brown books for under £3 for the lot! i never leave with nothing.
the money from the community shop goes back into the local community , helping people & families set up there homes, keep their homes etc by providing essentials , like cookers etc to the ones who really need it.
Greatest and cheapest ‘charity shop’ I’ve ever been to. Good for clothes, books toys, and random stuff. Staff friendly and very helpful. Always worth asking if you’re looking for something they haven’t got out. Love it.
One of my favourite shops in Leeds! They have always something nice. It’s a charity shop, then prices are really low. You can find there really nice clothes for really low prices.
Me and my girlfriend come in here to buy stuff all the time with our little boy. The staff are great and are always very friendly to us. There is always something to be found here.
This is an absolute gem among Leeds’ charity shops. A quick glance in the window revealed an amazing display of vintage china ornaments, crockery and trays with some very unusual and charming pieces. Darting straight in I wasn’t disappointed as there was many an OTT vintage hat displayed high on the walls and a determined search through the rails and shelves yielded yet more bargainous finds.
Something amazing must have happened, some special delivery that was advertised in the local area, this cannot be just and average busy day. The shop was rammed with happy customers rooting through the walls of books and boxes of clothes. This courtyard of cheap/useful shops is rife with people on a bargain mission and others shall not get in their way and it is no surprise as there are wonderful goodies to lay your hands on and not just books and clothes but all the usual array of discarded yet reusable items; tea-sets, cutlery, household items such as curtains, clothes-airers on and on I could list. This is a big and wonderful shop.
If you’re into charity shops, live in Leeds and haven’t been here then what are you playing at? Admittedly, it is off the student-beaten track all the way over in Meanwood but is worth the 20-minute trek from Headingley. It puts the over-priced ‘vintage’ shops to shame with its good old fashioned charity shop ethos, which I experienced first-hand when I went to buy some knitting needles.
