We have been able to provide grants in order to enable families with children to go away on holiday. We work with the social workers who support the family in choosing a holiday, preparing for it and working through any problems.
Most of the families go on a caravan holiday but many go to a B&B, camping or even a guest house. The families have the choice and this increases their enjoyment and self esteem. We have had feedback from social workers to say that the benefits of the holiday have been so significant that some families have no longer needed Social Service support.
